This section of the guide is for learning the basics of how to fish. If you already know how to get basic bait, and cast then you can skip this part of the guide.
The solution to any problem work, love, lack of mammons, the solution as every fisher knows is: to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. With trusty spade, you can dig for bait in muddied pools. To get started we'll have to create some TOOLS
While you have most of your tools you need on you, you are missing one vital item! The bucket. With a bucket you can create the MUD terrain which is important for catching bait.
To create a bucket do the following:
Voila! You now have all the tools you need to start fishing!
Other tools you have on you: the spade, the hunting knife, flint and a frypan. Abyssor provides all else. Remember: If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there’d be a shortage of fishing poles.
Tools you might want eventually but are unnecessary : a sack to store excess fish, a container to make sure fish stay fresh, a lamptern to light your way when it is dark.
Well you have the all mighty bucket. What now you ask? Its time to get dirty.
After creating the mud tile you can now SCOOP out the dirt with your spade and you will find either a leech or a worm. Tuck those in your satchel for bait. You can now just SCOOP the dirt back in and fill the hole and SCOOP again to search the muddy terrain for more bait.
Just as every fish there exists a bait they cannot resist swallowing: so exists a bait for all vanderlings: Fish!
You have your bait by this point hopefully and its time to fish.

The above guide has to do with how to get BASIC bait and to give a new player a overview on how to enjoy the Fisher role. The Following information will be more ADVANCED guide on how to sell your fish, how to identify the quality, size of fish and much more.
The Merchant:
The Merchant can provide you with the most mammons for your catch. They also can order some of the best fishing equipmnent available to you. Hopefully by cultivating a good relationship between the two of you he will become your best client and number one vendor.
The Innkeeper
All fried fish provides a complex meal moodlet. While the Merchant can provide more money the Innkeepper is probably less busy and can listen to your stories of the sea.
The Steward:
The Steward is typically busy but he handles all the afairs of the keep. The keep needs a constant supply of food so if you see him at his station (the left side of the gate) consider selling him some fish. He might just be able to provide a better price than the merchant seeing as he can store it in the vault and make money off the interest of the value of the fish. Or he can sell it on the ship like the merchant.
In Vanderlin you will find a variety of fish. Some are worth more than others but none are worthless. To find all the various types of fish you must use different baits and use the appropriate sinkers.

The Deep Water tiles can be found more often than not by the port. Murky water can be found in the bogs.
Fishing is quite a good metaphor for life. You do your prep, you do your thinking, you put your bait out, and you wait, confident that you've done your groundwork. But a lot of life is luck.
