“Elf
Psydonia's first.
Elves, the first species of Psydonia, are characterized by lengthened age, low fertility, and magical aptitude originating from a vast array of tribal cultures and sub-races. With the ascension of Zizo, the entire culture of snow-elves was all but destroyed, leading the remaining tribes to live in fear and paranoia of suffering the same fate. Many elves sought safety through mixing culture, positioning themselves under the watchful guard of their stronger humen counterparts.
A longstanding fued[sic] remains between elves and dwarves. Elvenkind has yet to forgive the dwarves for their destruction of homeland and pillaging of natural resources within the former snow-elf territory. To elves, it was the greatest signifier of disrespect for those lost.”
Elves are similar to humens, with much longer, pointy, ears, and leaner physiques. Their hairs come in a greater variety of colors, with snow whites, and lush greens supplementing the standard arsenal. Skin colors are almost identical to humen ones, except lacking the palest of colors.
Elves are the target of no institutional discrimination, at least not in Vanderlin. Non-institutional discrimination is a different story. There is near-constant poking at their weak muscles, slender figures, and long, point, ears. Male elves are commonly considered non-masculine, while elves of both genders are occasionally referred to as “knife-ears,” and pushed around.
There are tales of a time before civilization, a time of peace, where it was elves and only elves, living in tribes. Such a time is long gone, with the advent of new other species. In this new civilized era, elves, while able to fill any class they want, are usually pigeonholed into being in more “academic” roles, such as archivist, or artificer. Another common pigeonhole elves get stuck in is more servile work, such as a servant, acolyte, or even the consort. Even when elves do work in more militaristic roles, such as being a city watchmen, they're further pigeonholed into being archers. Of course, you can always extend your middle finger, and do whatever you want, because you have every class available to you, however, people can say “haha, elf, flabby arm muscle, long ear, haha,” so watch out.
Elves have upsides, AND downsides, wild, I know. Anyways, elves receive bonuses that tend towards backline combat, and high maneuverability, as well as a few good unique traits.

Elves in combat are fairly simple, with two ideal roles. Either one, you stay the FUCK in the back and pew pew with whatever ranged attack you have, whether it's throwing rocks like a savage, using a bow, or spellcasting, or two, you get up close with a melee weapon and dodge attacks. Also, don't use a crossbow, the stirrup takes 2 to 3 business days for your flabby elf arms to pull it, so pick up a bow like a REAL elf.
