“Tiefling
Also known as Infernal-Spawn, Hell-Bloods, Surface-Devils, and perhaps in a more humorous manner, thieflings.
Their treatment ranges from shunning to distrust, depending on the region. Shopkeeps and merchants always keep a wary eye out when a tiefling passes by. The resentment feed[sic] into itself, leading to higher rates of tiefling ire and thievery against other species. Many tieflings resign to seeking a solitary and nomadic life, huddled in groups outside the watchful eyes of others. They also tend to be extremely perceptive and paranoid, as luck is rarely on their side.
Tieflings are incapable of reproducing with mortals, and thus are spawn of either devils, demons, or other tieflings. A tiefling may develop any number of hellish features, a wide range of horns, potential hooves, odd spines and spikes, or scales. Oddly positioned scales, hollow bones, and other varying oddities that appear consistently in Tiefling biology make them considerably fragile. It is not uncommon for a tiefling to be generally unpleasant to look at in the eye of the commonfolk. If to make matters worse, their hellish progenitors have left them a destiny of misfortune, though perhaps their immunity to fire opens new opportunities…
THIS IS A DISCRIMINATED SPECIES. EXPECT A MORE DIFFICULT EXPERIENCE. NOBLES EVEN MORE SO. PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK.” - In game selection text
Tieflings are BLODDY DEVILS DAMIT. All jokes aside, take a humen, dunk em in a vibrant bucket of paint, give em ears and horns and a bunch of other disgusting features(cause why not,) and you have a tiefling! That was probably the worst comparison I could have made. You know the classic tiefling bard from DND? Throw that out the window, these things are canonically ugly! Their hair has blacks, blondes, purple, blue, and DEMONIC reds, not normal reds, but vile devilish reds. Their skin colors are all over the place, ranging from blue, to purple, to pink, to red.

Tieflings face heavy institutional AND non-institutional discrimination in the world of Psydonia. When it comes to institutional discrimination, Tieflings will never be a member of the garrison of any self-respecting kingdom, they're seen as too fragile to stand their ground, and seen as gluttonous and wasteful with garrison resources. A kingdom is likely desperate if they resort to Tieflings as soldiers(though meat shields never hurt). They will never be a royal, noble, and most fancy schmancy jobs. Tieflings are able to be shopkeepers, and have some semblance of societal authority, but a humen will always be treated better. On the off-chance a Tiefling does land a high position, I.E. a Royal Knight, or such, it's immediately a cause of tension, and a Tiefling monarch is an immediate crisis, especially for those old enough to remember Baotha's rise. Tieflings, when it comes to non-institutional discrimination, draw plenty ire, even from other inhumen. Adding to the theme of misfortune, Tieflings aren't as physically capable of defending themselves from discrimination as the other inhumen. Half-orcs have their bulging muscles and ironclad pecs, Dark-elves are decently toned and durable as well, but Tieflings? Tieflings have average strength, sure, but they get ripped apart like paper, and the law rarely steps in to halt it. They're the punching bag of the inhumen species group. Tiefling, despite their reputation, make poor thieves, what with their tails, horns, and various other disgusting features poking out from a hood. Though perhaps that's exactly what spreads that poor reputation. Somebody sees a thief running away with their satchel, and they holler “DAMN YOU THIEF!!” but if somebody sees a thief running away with their satchel AND a tail sticking out from their cloak, they holler "DAMN YOU TIEFLINGS!!"
Tieflings have a choice to make, like all other inhumen species, and it relates to discrimination. Keep your head down, or fight back. Be “one of the good ones” or the reason they fear you. Tieflings in the lore also have a thick sense of camaraderie and kinship with other Tieflings, regardless of blood relation, much greater than the normal kinship other species hold. Tiefling shopkeepers often give out discounts or free products to their ‘kin.’ Tieflings however, also thrive in the role of a hunter. Can't be discriminated against when you're in the wilds, and sharp eyes make for sharp shots, just watch out for being mauled.
Tieflings are hard-pressed for what roles to pick, with slim pickings. No options in the garrison, nor the royal family, nor nobility in the first place. If you want to pick up a weapon and fight as a Tiefling, your best bets are mercenary, adventurer, and HUNTER. You can tell if a species has heavy discrimination if HUNTER is considered a valid combat class. You also could ignore class restrictions and choose whatever role you want with thirty triumphs, if you're LAME.

Tieflings make good archers, spellcasters, and glass cannon rogues. You know who is also good at being archers, spellcasters, and glass cannon rogues? Half elves, who don't have a malus to fortune, or constitution, and also get night vision, and also don't have intense discrimination. Tieflings, in truth, are not a “meta” pick. They're almost universally agreed upon as the “worst” species. They have a mediocre stat lineup, heavy discrimination, and few unique combat subclasses; all of which adds up to being pinned with the gold medal of terribleness. Don't be sad, however, because this just means all of your devilish trickery and demonic victories are that much more impressive! Rags to riches!
