The list is short and consise as we can make it. To make this an enjoyable experience for everyone, and to continue playing yourself, we ask that you read them. They exist for a reason, and we WILL enforce them.
At the moment, the server is only open on occasion for tests, so be sure to join the Discord to know when it's active! This wiki is still WIP and HEAVILY INCOMPLETE. If you are willing to dedicate some time to helping us fill it, please contact Aberra on the Monkestation Discord.
We aim to provide a place that harbours the spirit of SS13 in a very different codebase. Vanderlin is a place for roleplay, silly or serious. We attempt to build an experience which could be straight out of a Monty Python skit one day, or a Game of Thrones episode another. All we ask is that you stay in character, try your best, and be considerate to your co-players.
Vanderlin is something we might describe a 'HRP training grounds.' We aim for high standards of roleplay. We expect you to try your hardest to work with other players and create a narrative, whether silly, tragic, or moving. However, we don't expect perfection.
You will not be punished for having imperfect punctuation or grammar, nor a character with a plot hole or two. You will not be judged for it. Everyone starts somewhere, and we are happy to provide a place to learn, grow, and improve. If you are here in good faith but doubt your own skills, that's okay! You'll pick it up as you go along. Existing in a higher roleplay environment will help you learn through proximity.
Treat Vanderlin as an improv comedy, or tragedy, or whatever tale you find most compelling and wish to share with other nerds on the internet. Do not be afraid to roll with punches, play into bits, or break character to help a player who is obviously struggling to learn the controls. Not everyone will win here, you are unlikely to win here, but we can all show compassion nonetheless. The codebase is admittedly not as accessible as others- so we expect our players to do their part and be welcoming.
Have fun. Our team of developers and staff are a bunch of hard workers, and we are proud to present Vanderlin to you.
Love, Aberra.

Vanderlin is a very different codebase when compared to Monkestation or any other /tg/ derivative, so it's worth your time to read the Guides! Especially the Beginner's Guide if this is your first time playing!
